Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee commits suicide

A young life cut short. Actress Pratyusha Banerjee whom we remember as Anandi from Balika Vadhu has reportedly committed suicide. The actress passed away in Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri. As per a news report, she attempted suicide earlier in the day and hung herself. When she was admitted to the hospital, she was pronounced dead.

The cause behind the drastic step is said to be issues in her personal life. She was extremely depressed by how things were shaping up with her boyfriend, Rahul Raj Singh. The two were in a serious relationship and planning to marry soon. When we got in touch with the hospital authorities they told us that they could not leak the information. We also called up her Balika Vadhu colleague Sidharth Shukla who said, “I also just heard the news and I am shocked. This is indeed very sad and depressing.”

Actress Mahek Chahal and her boyfriend Ashmit Patel were great friends with Pratyusha and her beau, Rahul Raj Singh.  She said, “She was anything but depressed when I last met her a month back. Pratyusha was talking about her marriage that was to take place in March. We were great friends. Ashmit did a gig at a venue in the city and they had come for it.” Mahek also reminisces about the good time they had after Power Couple. “We were very close. I remember after the show wound up we partied in Goa. She also came to Ashmit’s place. It is so depressing.”

Like Pratyusha, Mahek too was a part of Bigg Boss. The two were seen on Power Couple, the partner based reality show. Pratyusha Banerjee ended her life today at her Malad residence. The Balika Vadhu actress hung herself as she was reportedly depressed about the turmoil in her personal life. When they got her to the hospital, she was pronounced dead. She was all of 24.
